Yoshimi Hester

Yoshimi Hester is DoWAT’s educational psychologist (EP). Prior to becoming an EP, she worked in primary and secondary schools in the underprivileged areas of Buckinghamshire, London and Essex as a teaching assistant, teacher (OFSTED grade 1), Head of English and SENCO. Before training to become an EP, she was also an advisory teacher with a caseload of children with statements of educational needs. Before becoming an independent EP working with mainstream schools, specialist provisions and Hertfordshire’s Virtual School, she was a senior specialist EP with Hertfordshire’s Behaviour Support Team. In addition to qualifications in psychology and educational psychology, she has a Masters in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) from UCL.
