SEND
At the Diocese of Westminster Academy Trust, supporting our most vulnerable pupils is at the heart of everything we do. We are deeply committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of their needs, receives the care, support, and education they deserve. Our dedicated central SEND team plays a key role in this mission, offering expert guidance, tailored workshops, and detailed reports to help all our schools provide the highest standards of support. We also invest in the ongoing development and wellbeing of our SENDCos, providing regular CPD opportunities including our Trustwide SEND Networking Day, an event where SENDCos from across the Trust come together to share best practice and wellbeing strategies. Additionally, we host termly virtual Best Practice Networks, enabling SENDCos to collaborate, reflect, and learn from one another’s experiences, helping to strengthen inclusive practice throughout our Trust.
Our commitment to inclusive education is reflected in the outstanding outcomes achieved by our SEND students. At DoWAT, pupils with special educational needs and disabilities consistently perform a full grade higher across all subjects compared to their peers in non-DoWAT schools. This achievement is a testament to the expertise of our staff, the strength of our support structures, and the collaborative culture fostered across the Trust. It highlights the real impact of our tailored approach to SEND provision and our belief in the potential of every child.
