Performance & Results

DoWAT is proud of the consistently strong performance achieved across our family of schools. Our results reflect a shared commitment to academic excellence, high expectations, and the holistic development of every child within a faith-centred community.

DoWAT is the country’s top performing mid-size Catholic Multi-Academy Trust

Each year, our schools continue to perform above national averages across a range of key performance measures. The Trust’s 2024 results demonstrate sustained improvement and success at every phase, with pupils achieving strong outcomes at Key Stage 2, Key Stage 4 and Post-16.

At secondary level, our pupils’ attainment across English, mathematics, science, languages and humanities continues to strengthen, with a notably high entry rate for the English Baccalaureate (EBacc). This reflects our commitment to a broad and ambitious curriculum that prepares young people for lifelong learning, leadership and service.

In our primary schools, pupils consistently make excellent progress, leaving Key Stage 2 well-prepared for secondary education and the next stage of their academic and personal development. At Post-16, our schools maintain a culture of aspiration and achievement, supporting students to secure strong academic results and progress to leading universities, further education, apprenticeships, and employment.

Children with SEND achieve more at SEND schools – testament to our commitment

These outcomes are a testament to the dedication of our leaders, teachers, governors and support staff, and to the hard work and ambition of our pupils. Together, we are building a community of schools that exemplify the very best of Catholic education: academically rigorous, inclusive, and rooted in faith.

Primary results

In relation to Early Years (2024/25), for a second year in a row, all schools were above National in the number of pupils achieving a Good Level of Development. Our Trust average is almost 10% above that achieved Nationally and we had a particularly strong performance from our EAL pupils, a group we were tracking closely across the year.

In Key Stage 1 the Trust average was 81% of pupils achieved the expected standard Although this is a hugely positive outcome we will continue to focus on this area, particularly  in relation to Pupil Premium and SEND pupils.

In Key Stage 2, Year 4 Multiplication outcomes were almost 15% above the National average with over 45% of pupils in DoWAT schools achieving full marks.

By the end of Key Stage 2, outcomes were extremely positive and we saw a rising trend in Reading and Maths. The Trust averages were well above National with over 80% achieving the expected standard and almost 30-40% at greater depth. Key Stage 2 writing wasn’t quite as impressive, tracking at 72% at expected and although this is above National, it continues to be an area of focus.
