Nicholas Breakspear School achieves record GCSE Results to end a ‘GOOD’ Year

Students at Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School have achieved record results three years in a row. It marks another year of excellent academic and personal achievements for students at the school.  It is a fitting end to a year in which the school has been acknowledged as a ‘GOOD’ school by Ofsted.  Nicholas Breakspear students continue to excel and reach beyond their potential.  The results have exceeded government targets and the school continues to have the highest expectations of its students.

Mrs. M  John, Deputy Head Teacher responsible for Student Achievement and Progress commented: “I am delighted with our students’ results as they have demonstrated dedication, commitment and resilience in the years leading up to these examinations.  They are indeed a credit to this school community. They have not only produced record breaking results but they should be very proud of what they have achieved and who they have become”.Amongst the many good results, the following all achieved A*/A grades:

Ewan Wilson
Paulina Kloc
Hannah Cosgrave
Orla Gibbons
Katy Crowley
Emily Crummey
A humble Ewan Wilson, who achieved the highest grades in the year, said “I would like to thank all my teachers who have supported me on my journey.  These grades have enabled me to continue with my education at Nicholas Breakspear Sixth Form, where I will be studying Mathematics, History and Biology”.

An emotional Hannah Cosgrave was delighted when she received her impressive results and said “I truly feel that this school cares for each and everyone one of us and is so aspirational which has enabled me to achieve my full potential”.

Paulina Kloc, who was also one of the top achievers in the year, said “I would like to thank all my teachers for truly believing in me and giving me the confidence to succeed”.

A large number of our Year 11 students, for whom English is their second language, also achieved success at GCSE in Dutch, Italian, Polish and Portuguese.

We would also like to congratulate three of our year 10 students Callum Britton, George Lopez and Tomasz Sadek who all achieved an A* with a distinction in GCSE Further Mathematics.

Mr. Declan Linnane, Headteacher, commented, “I would like to congratulate all our students on their excellent GCSE results".
