Dear Parents/Guardians, The examination season is now in full flow and our Year 11 pupils have made an excellent start, please do keep them in your prayers. We had a wonderful celebration Mass this week for Father Philip, our Priest Chaplain, to mark forty years since his ordination. It was a very well attended event with former colleagues and friends of Father Philip present. I am very pleased to report that Mr Kelly was able to attend and he looks very well and is enjoying his ‘second’ retirement; he asked me to pass on his best wishes to you all. Father Philip thanked all of those attending and has asked that we continue to keep him in our prayers. Father Philip is a key part of our school community; it was a great opportunity to thank him for everything that he does for us all. School Funding We did receive a small number of application forms to join the school lottery this week and thought that this was a good opportunity to remind everyone of this method of supporting the school, that may even make you a winner! The school lottery is a very simple way to support your school during these difficult times and it also has an element of fun. Here is the link if you are able to join the scheme.
Finally, as I mentioned last week our Twitter account has been reactivated and gives you a regular update on events in school, for example the Air Ambulance arriving. We hope to have over a thousand followers by the end of the month so do join up if you are not already following the school @thejhnschool. My thanks to the large numbers of you who have contacted the school in the past weeks, particularly Year 11 and Year 13 parents, thanking the staff for all their work and efforts in supporting your children. It is greatly appreciated. Have a sunny weekend!
God Bless, Mr Mathew
