Year 10 Drama Students see 'Blood Brothers'
On Thursday 2nd March, the Year 10 GCSE Drama students from The Douay Martyrs School had the opportunity to see Willy Russell's 'Blood Brothers'. Accompanied by Miss Hayes and Mr Macleod, the group journeyed to the Theatre Royal, Windsor to see this critically acclaimed production about the Johnstone twins who were separated at birth. The twins, not knowing their true relationship, became life long friends. However, their friendship was impacted by social class, money and love.
The visit was organised to support the student's study of their GCSE Set Text, upon which they will be assessed in their final GCSE examination. The group really benefited from seeing this live production as it certainly gave them lots of ideas about the staging of a play.
The students had a great time on the visit, and were commended by another audience member for their good behaviour. It was a wonderful afternoon and very enriching for all who attended.
