World Book Day News from the Library

World Book Day at The Douay Martyrs School!
All Key Stage 3 classes celebrated World Book Day this week by reading for the first 10 minutes of every lesson. Year 7 students started an exciting new novel, ‘The Knife of Never Letting Go’ by Patrick Ness, read to them during form time by their tutors.
Another activity included a Pop-up Book Competition aimed at younger readers, and designed by Year 7. Year 8 students had a competition to write a story in 100 words. We also launched our book blog for keen adult and student readers, while Year 11 had the first meeting of their Book Club.
What a great way to celebrate World Book Day!
