The Term Ahead Publication - The John Henry Newman School

Dear Parents/Carers I hope you had an enjoyable and spiritual Easter break. We look forward to better weather for the Summer Term and of course the end of year examinations; both public and internal. The Summer Term is always a very enjoyable term as the school visibly relaxes with fewer students and pupils on the site. We say farewell to the old Head Boy/Head Girl Team: Josh, Mary, Finn, Daniel, Sara and Olivia; they have been stunning. We thank them all for their marvellous work and we wish them well for their futures. The new Head Boy/Head Girl Team take office in the Summer Term. They are an excellent group of young adults and I know that they will do a marvellous job. They are: Ethan Day – Head Boy, Meghan Capper – Head Girl, Rishabh Joshi– Deputy Head Boy, Clare De’Ath – Deputy Head Girl, Catriona Fryer – Deputy Head Girl and Gemma O’Donnell– Deputy Head Girl. Please keep them in your prayers. I know that many of you had the great pleasure of seeing ‘Oliver’. Approximately 2000 people attended the performances over five days, which were all amazing. We are very proud of everyone involved. I must thank the staff who gave up so much of their time to make the production such a success. I must also thank our dedicated parents who ferried their children to the numerous rehearsals; thank you so much for all that you do for our school. As is always the case, the number of events squeezed into the Summer Term is remarkable. I hope to see you all at the many events, especially the JHNA BBQ and the Summer Concert. Thank you all for your continued prayers of support. All we do is for you and with you. Enjoy the term and the well-deserved summer break at the end of it. God Bless. C Mathew Headteacher
