Cardinal’s Lenten Appeal Launch

We, Nicholas Breakspear, were honoured to have been invited by Father Dominic (Catholic Parishes of Borehamwood) to this very special event, the launch of the Cardinal’s Lenten Appeal which took place at St Teresa’s Church Hall.

7M and 4 Year 9 Confirmation Candidates from the Parish attended with Mr O’Sullivan, Miss Butler and Mr Warrender and heard speeches from Fr Dominic, Cardinal Vincent Nichols and representatives from The Borehamwood Food Bank which is one of our Lenten Charities this year.

This event was attended by the Mayor of Hertsmere and was an informative and inspirational experience for both the students and staff who will spread the word about the importance of fighting food poverty.

Malachi Roberts, Year 9 said “The day was very interesting, being able to see and meet the Cardinal. I enjoyed hearing about his Lenten appeal and the history of the Borehamwood Food bank. It has made me feel that I want to help the Borehamwood food bank and those that have to use it.
