Amnesty International speaks about The Human Rights Act

On Tuesday 7th March, the Year 13 Core RE students from The Douay Martyrs Catholic School were fortunate enough to have a representative from Amnesty International in to talk to them about The Human Rights Act. This gave them the opportunity to learn more about; the origin of the Human Rights Act, the 16 rights covered by the Human Rights Act, why we need to save the Human Rights Act and consider real life stories on how it has helped people.

The students were very engaged and were commended on the intelligent and mature questions that they asked. We are looking forward to welcoming Amnesty International back to the Douay Martyrs Catholic Secondary School in a few weeks to talk to the Year 12 students.
