Product Design ‘sketches’ the Future
The Douay Martyrs Catholic Secondary School Year 12 Product Design students in the Design & Technology Department recently enjoyed an intensive workshop in coding and electromechanical control, facilitated by Kingston University. The course, run by Product Designer Sebastian Oglecki, taught students to write codes - referred to as ‘sketches’ - for Arduino programmable boards. They then interfaced the programmed boards with their own circuits to create a range of interesting and useful functions. Students also built a product using electro-mechanical control which further enhanced their knowledge using electronics for innovative practical applications.
The work done through this workshop was enjoyed by all, and will also form part of Sebastian’s research at The Royal College of Art.
