Victories for The Douay Martyrs Year 7, 8 and 10 Football Teams!

The past week has been extremely positive for our football teams who have recorded excellent victories against either Harefield Academy or Vyners.

Year 7 : Our Year 7 team recorded an excellent victory against Harefield on Tuesday 22nd February 2017. The team started off brightly playing some excellent passing football but could unfortunately not find the back of the net! However their patience paid off and the team scored 5 goals as a result against strong opposition. On the day we were missing two key players but their replacements stepped up as expected and have now increased the competition for places.
Goalscores were Nunu Njoroge (2), Richard Olise, Daniel N’Somi and Kai Evans.

Year 8 : On Thursday 9th February 2017, our Year 8 team were given the opportunity to play at Harefield Academy and we took full advantage of their excellent playing facilities. Throughout the game Douay used the size of the pitch to stretch the defence of Harefield with our pace and this worked on several occasions resulting in a 7-1 victory. A special mention must go to the defence and goalkeeper who did have plenty to do even though the scoreline does not suggest that!
Goalscorers were Ben Forde (3), Nathan Fadare, Armari Adams-Brand and Finley Richardson.

Year 10: On Wednesday 22nd February 2017, a full strength Year 10 team faced a Vyners team who have given us a good battle in recent years. After a while without a game it was clear to see that Year 10 were very motivated to start quickly and they did exactly that by scoring four goals in the first half. In the second half, Douay continued to play excellent football and scored a further two to settle a convincing 6-0 victory.
Goalscorers were Edmund Martins (3), Michael Olise, Jack Egan and Matthew Attipoe.
