The History Department Visit to Hampton Court
The Douay Martyrs Catholic School History Department took 41 year 7 students to Hampton Court on Monday 6th February. We were able to look around the Palace at our leisure. Places we visited included, the Great Hall where Henry would have eaten, the Haunted Corridor where Catherine Howard’s ghost is said to run along screaming, the kitchens which had a very welcome roaring log fire, the Chapel garden and the beautiful Chapel where we were told all about Henry and his 6 wives by the very informative guide. The students were a great credit to the school. In fact we were complemented by the guide who said she thought they were very knowledgeable, very attentive and extremely well behaved - one of the best groups she’d ever had!
